Solar Learning Kit Curriculum Outline

Core Curriculum minimum: 5 hours

We Share Solar’s hands-on, standards-aligned curriculum introduces students to solar energy, engineering, and global impact through the Solar Suitcase Learning Kit. Lessons are designed to be flexible, engaging, and rooted in real-world problem solving.

Students learn how to identify the variables that affect the amount of electricity you get from a solar panel using mini solar cells and motors.

Students learn how a stand-alone solar electric system works and what the different components do by building the SLK.

Students learn how to measure voltage and current on the SLK using a digital multimeter.

Students learn how to calculate amounts of power and energy.

Students learn the basics of solar-electric system design and begin the process of designing their own.
