Each We Share Solar® Solar Suitcase Learning Kit ships with everything required to build a stand-alone 12-volt DC solar power system. It includes a full-color assembly and commissioning guide with written and visual step-by-step instructions.

Designed for reuse, the We Share Solar Suitcase can be disassembled and used as a learning tool year after year.
A set of 10 assembled Solar Suitcase Learning Kits in a classroom can contribute to emergency preparedness.
This kit can be used as a backup power system, with the one included light in the package, plus the USB port for charging devices.
The solar panel itself can fully charge the battery from just 6 hours of sunlight, which can then provide 10 hours of light, or fully charge 3 whole smartphones.

Students can become global Solar Solutionaries™ as they build the kit with the guidance of a teacher, and learn how solar power works.
The Solar Suitcase Learning Kit serves as an example to what We Share Solar deploys to countries who need light and charging capacity in their schools, medical clinics, and communities which currently lack energy access. Deployment
Upon arrival in the destination country, each system is paired with a battery and a solar panel. We purchase these items in-country to support the local economies and to create a network that can provide replacement parts when needed.
Installation
Our trained partners install the entire solar system and train the school staff on proper usage and maintenance.
Training
We Share Solar is dedicated to serving students on both ends of our program – those who build the suitcase and those who use it. Each built suitcase ships with our We Share Solar story book, “Mirembe the Solar Dreamer”, and a comprehensive Solar Suitcase Learning Guide.
Sharing
We capture the story of the sponsored Solar Suitcases being installed in schools and health clinics, and share it with teachers and students. When students see the real-world connections to what they are doing in class, they begin to see themselves that way – and the next generation of Solar Solutionaries™ is born.
