In 2016, we installed 69 Solar Suitcases in schools and children’s homes in rural Kenya, impacting over 11,400 people. We partnered with Kenyan community-based organizations, Change Mtaani in Kibera and Women in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship (WISEE) in Nairobi to select sites and conduct installations and user training. These systems were built by high school students in California, Arizona, Paris, and London as part of the We Share Solar STEM education program. We are grateful to our partners at PG&E, Wells Fargo and UNESCO for supporting these programs.
